Tail Ejection

Anoles can eject their tails to escape from predators. The tail will grow back but will look different.

The dewlap is a colorful flap of skin under an anole's throat that is used to attract females, warn off other males, and frighten predators. Females have a smaller dewlap.

The roach is a ridge on an anole's back that is used to attract females and warn off other males.
